Apple Crisp
Crunchy topping and soft apples goes well with yogurt for breakfast
Yield: 10" Round Baking Dish
Ingredients:
8 Small Apples, core removed and chopped to pieces
2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp Lemon Juice
Topping:
1/2 cup Brown Sugar, packed
3/8 cup Old-Fashioned Oats
3/8 cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/4 cup Butter, Cold and cubed
- Preheat oven at 350F°/180°C
- Toss apple pieces, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice together in a baking dish.
- In medium bowl, mix all the topping ingredients by hand until it comes to crumb texture.
- Sprinkle topping on apple mixture.
- Bake for 40 minutes.
Note: I turn the oven off after 40 minutes and let the oven cool with the baking dish in it. Topping stays crunchy and apples are soft with this method.
