Crunchy topping and soft apples goes well with yogurt for breakfast

Yield: 10" Round Baking Dish

Ingredients:
8 Small Apples, core removed and chopped to pieces
2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp Lemon Juice

Topping:
1/2 cup Brown Sugar, packed
3/8 cup Old-Fashioned Oats
3/8 cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/4 cup Butter, Cold and cubed

  1. Preheat oven at 350F°/180°C
  2. Toss apple pieces, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice together in a baking dish.
  3. In medium bowl, mix all the topping ingredients by hand until it comes to crumb texture.
  4. Sprinkle topping on apple mixture.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes.

Note: I turn the oven off after 40 minutes and let the oven cool with the baking dish in it. Topping stays crunchy and apples are soft with this method.
